In the Beginning

I had the idea for The Beauty of Transport when I wrote, on-spec, an article about the fact that the Government seemed to be trying to hide High Speed 2 in the hopes of making it more politically palatable to some MPs in the Chilterns. I thought that was wrong, because visible transport infrastructure, if done well, enhances the environment. I spectacularly failed to get the article published, but I’ve added it to the about this blog page if you’re interested in having a look. You’ll see I’ve already covered a couple of examples of life-enhancing transport infrastructure from the original article on this blog already, and it does sort of give the game away about some of the ones I’ll look at in future. But The Beauty of Transport goes beyond just the physical infrastructure of transport and looks at how it’s seeped into our cultural life, too…
